Ingredients

  • 4 cups of cubed bread
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cups of diced celery
  • 2 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh sage chopped
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 cup of cooked sausage optional

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and celery.
  • Cook until the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in chopped sage and cook for an additional minute.
  • In a large bowl, combine cubed bread, sautéed mixture, broth, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
  • Transfer to a greased baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown on top.
