- 4 cups of cubed bread
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 cups of diced celery
- 2 cups of chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon of fresh sage chopped
- 2 teaspoons of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of cooked sausage optional
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and celery.
Cook until the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in chopped sage and cook for an additional minute.
In a large bowl, combine cubed bread, sautéed mixture, broth, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
Transfer to a greased baking dish and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown on top.
