Prepare the chicken breasts by seasoning with salt, pepper, and thyme.
Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat, then cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest while you cook the noodles.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions in salted water.
Once the noodles are cooked, drain them and add to the skillet with the garlic.
Add the remaining butter to the noodles, tossing well to coat.
Slice the rested chicken and serve on top of the buttered noodles, garnishing with Parmesan if desired.
