Flaky Croissant Waffles for a Sweet Breakfast

Flaky Croissant Waffles for a Sweet Breakfast made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages 8 oz each refrigerated croissant dough
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray or melted butter for greasing the waffle iron

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions. If your waffle iron requires greasing, lightly coat it with cooking spray or brush it with melted butter.
  • Open the packages of croissant dough and carefully unroll each sheet. Separate the dough into individual triangles as instructed on the packaging.
  • Place one triangle of croissant dough in each section of the preheated waffle iron. If using a larger waffle iron, you may need to fit two triangles per section to cover the surface.
  • Close the waffle iron and cook for about 3-5 minutes or until the waffles are golden brown and flaky. Adjust the cooking time based on your waffle iron's settings and your desired crispiness.
  • While the waffles are cooking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth.
  • Once the croissant waffles are cooked, carefully remove them from the waffle iron using a fork or spatula. Place them on a serving platter.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm waffles and allow it to slightly soak in. Optionally, add fresh berries or a dusting of powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
  • Serve the flaky croissant waffles immediately while they are warm and enjoy your delightful breakfast creation.
