Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the white chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underbaked.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
