Ingredients

  • 4 large marshmallows
  • 2 squares of milk chocolate or 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 graham crackers broken into quarters
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  • Begin by assembling your s’mores. Place a square of chocolate on one half of each graham cracker. Top with two marshmallows, then cover with the other half of the graham cracker, pressing down gently to secure. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined. This mixture will help create a light batter for frying.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar together until evenly blended.
  • Dip each assembled s’mores sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated, then transfer it to the flour mixture, pressing lightly to help the flour adhere.
  • Next, coat the sandwich with breadcrumbs, making sure it is well covered to achieve that crispy texture when fried.
  • In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the coated s’mores sandwich to the skillet. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side, adding more butter as needed.
  • Once fried, remove the sandwich from the skillet and place it on a paper towel to absorb excess grease. Repeat the frying process with any remaining sandwiches.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired, then slice in half to reveal the gooey, melted marshmallows and chocolate.
