  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly

  • ¼ cup vegetable oil

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1½ cups mashed ripe bananas (about 34 medium bananas)

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

 

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and line the bottom and sides with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.

  2. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. Prepare Wet Mixture:
    In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until well combined.
    Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.

  4. Incorporate Bananas:
    Mash the ripe bananas and stir into the wet ingredients until fully blended.

  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Don’t overmix.

  6. Add Chocolate Chips:
    Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.

  7. Bake:
    Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
    Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  8. Cool and Serve:
    Let the bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
    Use the parchment paper to lift it out, then cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
