  • Author: Mary

Ingredients

Scale

  • 3 packs ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs (optional)

  • 1 onion, diced

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 67 cloves garlic, minced

  • ⅓ cup Japanese BBQ sauce (or hoisin sauce as an alternative)

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 12 tablespoons sriracha

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced

  • Optional garnishes: sesame seeds, extra BBQ sauce, yum yum sauce

Instructions

  • Cook the Noodles:
Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook ramen noodles according to package directions.
Drain and rinse with cold water to keep them from sticking. Set aside.

  • Cook the Chicken and Onion:
In a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat, heat olive oil.
Add chicken (if using), diced onion, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3–4 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and onions are soft.

  • Add Garlic:
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.

  • Add Sauce and Noodles:
Add the cooked noodles to the skillet along with Japanese BBQ sauce, soy sauce, sriracha, and butter.
Stir well to coat all the noodles evenly.

  • Crisp the Noodles:
Let the noodles sit in the skillet without stirring for 5–7 minutes to get slightly crispy edges, stirring occasionally.

  • Add Green Onions:
Stir in sliced green onions and cook another 1–2 minutes.

  • Serve:
Serve hot with optional garnishes like sesame seeds, extra BBQ sauce, or yum yum sauce.
