Patriotic Fruit Cones – Easy, Healthy 4th of July Dessert Idea 🇺🇸

  • Author: Mary

Ingredients

The traditional patriotic fruit cone includes ingredients that match the red, white, and blue theme. Here’s a sample list:

  • Waffle cones – Sturdy, sweet, and easy to hold

  • Strawberries – Washed, hulled, and sliced

  • Blueberries – Washed and dried

  • Mini marshmallows – For a soft, white element

  • Banana slices or yogurt-covered raisins – Additional white accents

  • Optional: Raspberries, whipped cream, white chocolate chips, granola

You can easily swap or add ingredients to suit dietary needs or personal preference. We’ll share tons of ideas in the next sections.

Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Ingredients

Wash and dry all your fruits thoroughly. Slice the strawberries and bananas. If you’re using yogurt-covered raisins or other toppings, measure those out in advance.

Step 2: Set Up a Cone Station (Optional)

If you’re making this with kids or for a party, setting up a DIY cone bar is a fun idea! Set each topping in a small bowl so guests can build their own.

Step 3: Fill the Waffle Cones

Start by placing a few mini marshmallows at the bottom (to block any leakage). Then layer in strawberries, blueberries, and banana slices. Add a few more marshmallows or yogurt raisins on top for the white finish.

Step 4: Serve or Display

Place the filled cones upright in a cone holder, muffin tin, or upright in a box filled with rice or pebbles to keep them steady. Serve immediately or chill lightly until ready.
