Maple Dijon Glazed Chicken Ham – A Sweet & Tangy Holiday Favorite

  • Author: Mary

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Ham:

  • 1 (3 to 4 lb) boneless cooked chicken ham (pre-cooked or smoked)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (to sear or coat if baking uncovered)

For the Maple Dijon Glaze:

  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for warmth)

  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F.

  2. Prep the Chicken Ham:

    • If using pre-cooked chicken ham, score the top in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife.

    • Place ham in a roasting pan lined with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.

  3. Make the Glaze:

    • In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and cinnamon.

    • Simmer for 5–6 minutes until slightly thickened.

  4. Brush and Bake:

    • Brush half the glaze over the ham.

    • Bake uncovered for 40–50 minutes, basting with remaining glaze every 15–20 minutes.

  5. Finish with Broil (Optional):

    • For a caramelized crust, broil on high for 3–5 minutes at the end—watch closely!

  6. Rest and Slice:

    • Let the chicken ham rest 10 minutes before slicing.

    • Serve with remaining glaze drizzled on top or on the side.
