Ingredients
For the Chicken Ham:
-
1 (3 to 4 lb) boneless cooked chicken ham (pre-cooked or smoked)
-
1 tablespoon olive oil (to sear or coat if baking uncovered)
For the Maple Dijon Glaze:
-
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
-
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar
-
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
-
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
-
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, for warmth)
-
Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
-
Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F.
-
Prep the Chicken Ham:
-
If using pre-cooked chicken ham, score the top in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife.
-
Place ham in a roasting pan lined with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.
-
-
Make the Glaze:
-
In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together maple syrup, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and cinnamon.
-
Simmer for 5–6 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
-
Brush and Bake:
-
Brush half the glaze over the ham.
-
Bake uncovered for 40–50 minutes, basting with remaining glaze every 15–20 minutes.
-
-
Finish with Broil (Optional):
-
For a caramelized crust, broil on high for 3–5 minutes at the end—watch closely!
-
-
Rest and Slice:
-
Let the chicken ham rest 10 minutes before slicing.
-
Serve with remaining glaze drizzled on top or on the side.
