Ingredients
-
Large marshmallows (regular or jumbo)
-
Food coloring (gel or liquid)
-
Water
-
Muffin tin or small cups
-
Toothpicks
-
Styrofoam block or an empty egg carton (for drying)
Instructions
-
Fill each well of a muffin tin or small cup halfway with water.
-
Add 1–2 drops of food coloring to each cup. For pastel shades, use fewer drops; for vibrant colors, add more.
-
Stir each color mixture gently to combine.
-
Insert a toothpick into the top of a marshmallow.
-
Dip the marshmallow into the colored water as desired—halfway, fully, or at an angle. Hold for about 5 seconds.
-
Gently shake off excess dye.
-
Place the marshmallow upright into a Styrofoam block or an empty egg carton to dry.
-
Once dry, you can dip the other side for a two-toned effect, if desired.
-
Allow marshmallows to dry completely before serving or packaging.
