How to Make Dip-Dyed Marshmallows: Fun, Colorful Treats for All Ages

  • Author: Mary

Ingredients

  • Large marshmallows (regular or jumbo)

  • Food coloring (gel or liquid)

  • Water

  • Muffin tin or small cups

  • Toothpicks

  • Styrofoam block or an empty egg carton (for drying)

Instructions

  1. Fill each well of a muffin tin or small cup halfway with water.

  2. Add 1–2 drops of food coloring to each cup. For pastel shades, use fewer drops; for vibrant colors, add more.

  3. Stir each color mixture gently to combine.

  4. Insert a toothpick into the top of a marshmallow.

  5. Dip the marshmallow into the colored water as desired—halfway, fully, or at an angle. Hold for about 5 seconds.

  6. Gently shake off excess dye.

  7. Place the marshmallow upright into a Styrofoam block or an empty egg carton to dry.

  8. Once dry, you can dip the other side for a two-toned effect, if desired.

  9. Allow marshmallows to dry completely before serving or packaging.
