1½ lbs carrots (peeled and sliced into ½-inch rounds or diagonals)

3 tbsp unsalted butter

2 tbsp brown sugar or honey

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg

Optional garnish: chopped parsley, thyme, or orange zest
Instructions
1. Prep the Carrots

Peel and cut carrots into even pieces to ensure uniform cooking.
2. Boil or Steam

Place carrots in a saucepan with water to cover.

Boil for 7–10 minutes until fork-tender but not mushy.

Drain and return to the pan.
3. Glaze Time

Add butter, brown sugar (or honey), salt, and pepper to the carrots.

Cook over medium heat, stirring to coat.

Let the glaze bubble and reduce slightly, about 3–5 minutes.
4. Serve and Enjoy

Transfer to a serving dish and garnish as desired.
