Glazed Carrots – Easy, Buttery, Sweet Side Dish

  • lbs carrots (peeled and sliced into ½-inch rounds or diagonals)

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg

  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley, thyme, or orange zest


Instructions

1. Prep the Carrots

  • Peel and cut carrots into even pieces to ensure uniform cooking.

2. Boil or Steam

  • Place carrots in a saucepan with water to cover.

  • Boil for 7–10 minutes until fork-tender but not mushy.

  • Drain and return to the pan.

3. Glaze Time

  • Add butter, brown sugar (or honey), salt, and pepper to the carrots.

  • Cook over medium heat, stirring to coat.

  • Let the glaze bubble and reduce slightly, about 3–5 minutes.

4. Serve and Enjoy

  • Transfer to a serving dish and garnish as desired.
