Fried Cheese-Stuffed Doritos: The Ultimate Crunchy & Cheesy Snack

  • Author: Mary

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1 bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos, crushed

  • 8 oz block of cheddar cheese, cut into bite-sized cubes

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs

  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Breading Stations:

    • Place the crushed Doritos in a shallow bowl.

    • In a separate bowl, add the all-purpose flour.

    • In a third bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs and milk.

    • In a fourth bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

  2. Bread the Cheese Cubes:

    • Dredge each cheddar cheese cube in the flour, ensuring it’s fully coated.

    • Dip the floured cheese cube into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.

    • Roll the cheese cube in the panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

    • Finally, coat the cheese cube with the crushed Doritos, pressing lightly to ensure an even coating.

    • Place the breaded cheese cubes on a plate and repeat the process with the remaining cubes.

  3. Fry the Cheese-Stuffed Doritos:

    • In a deep fryer or large, heavy-bottomed pot, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).

    • Carefully add a few breaded cheese cubes to the hot oil, being cautious not to overcrowd the pot.

    • Fry the cheese cubes for about 1-2 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

    • Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried cheese cubes from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

    • Repeat the frying process with the remaining cheese cubes.

  4. Serve:

    • Allow the Fried Cheese-Stuffed Doritos to cool slightly before serving.

    • Enjoy them on their own or pair with your favorite dipping sauce.
