Ingredients
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1 teaspoon baking powder
-
1/2 teaspoon salt (plus extra for topping)
-
2/3 cup warm water
-
2 tablespoons butter, melted (plus more for brushing)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
-
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
-
Slowly stir in warm water and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
-
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 2 minutes until smooth.
-
Roll the dough out very thin—around 1/8 inch or thinner. The thinner, the crispier!
-
Cut into small squares or rectangles using a knife or pizza cutter.
-
Place the crackers on the prepared baking sheet. Use a fork to poke holes in the top of each cracker (this keeps them flat while baking).
-
Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle lightly with salt.
-
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Watch closely to avoid burning.
-
Let cool before serving. Store in an airtight container to keep them crispy.
