Creamy Beef and Shells – The Ultimate Cheesy One-Pan Comfort Meal

For the Pasta and Beef:
  • 8 ounces medium pasta shells

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • ½ medium sweet onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1½ teaspoons Italian seasoning

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups beef stock

  • 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce

  • ¾ cup heavy cream

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 1½ cups shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese (about 6 ounces)


Instructions

 

 

  1. Cook the Pasta

    • Boil a large pot of salted water.

    • Add pasta shells and cook until al dente.

    • Drain and set aside.

  2. Cook the Beef

    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Add ground beef and cook until browned (3-5 minutes).

    • Drain excess fat.

  3. Add Aromatics and Seasonings

    • Stir in diced onion and cook until translucent (about 2 minutes).

    • Add minced garlic and Italian seasoning; cook for 1 minute.

  4. Make the Sauce

    • Sprinkle flour over the beef mixture; stir well.

    • Cook for 1 minute.

    • Gradually whisk in beef stock and tomato sauce.

    • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 6-8 minutes.

  5. Combine Everything

    • Stir in cooked pasta shells and heavy cream.

    • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

    • Add shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted.

    • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
