Ingredients
-
4 cod fillets (about 6 ounces each)
-
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
-
3 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1 teaspoon onion powder
-
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
-
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
-
Lemon slices (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F.
-
Prepare the Lemon Butter Sauce: In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, lemon zest, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using).
-
Season the Cod: Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
-
Coat the Fish: Place the seasoned cod fillets into the bowl with the lemon butter sauce, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
-
Arrange in Baking Dish: Transfer the coated fillets to a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour any remaining sauce over the fish. Arrange lemon slices around and on top of the fillets.
-
Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cod is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
-
Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. Serve warm, garnished with additional lemon slices if desired.
